How are Male Ball Studs Attached?
Male Ball Studs have an external thread and are installed with 6-32 threaded nut. For a more decorative finish, take a look at our range of thumb nuts. In addition to holding the Ball Stud in place, the thumb nut will also serve as a Pull Style Knob for your door.
To install, insert the male thread through a pre-drilled hole in the door or panel that is aligned with the Speed Clip. Pass the male thread through the hole and attach the nut on the opposite side. The ball stud should be facing the clip so it can engage when the door is shut. Misalignment resulting from a normal amount of manufacturing tolerances can be readily absorbed by the spring legs on the speed clip.
We encourage you to explore our male ball stud offering below and find the right combination for your specific application. The listings are ordered by height and thread length and then material. We also manufacture custom male ball studs with precise measurements for applications requiring unique sizes.
